How Your Community Can Band Together to Prevent Sexual Abuse
In most cases of child sexual abuse the victim is abused by an adult or older child they know and trust. Educating an entire community about the risks and signs of sexual abuse is a big job, but it holds community members accountable and shows that sexual abuse isn’t tolerated there. Community action can be a very effective way to prevent child sexual abuse because it reminds community members that sexual abuse exists, educates people of all ages about the signs of sexual abuse, and encourages kids to speak up if they’ve been abused.
