Issues in “Stand Your Ground” Law and Defense
The February 26, 2012 shooting of Trayvon Martin by a block watch security patrol in Sanford, Florida has created national attention to so-called “Stand Your Ground” laws in the U.S. Such laws have been enacted in 32 States, based on the general concept of self-defense, and specifically according to the “ Castle Doctrine ” or Defense of Habitation law.
